The Court denied regular bail to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Dharamveer Kumar, was arrested on 12 May 2026 in connection with a case registered under Sections 8, 21(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act and Sections 18(a) and 18(c) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The prosecution alleged that 31 bottles (3.1 litres) of Codeine Phosphate and Triprolidine HCl syrup and a mobile phone were recovered from him, suggesting involvement in the sale and purchase of the narcotic syrup. The petitioner applied for regular bail. The Court examined the seriousness of the offence and the material recovered, and concluded that bail could not be granted. Consequently, the bail application was dismissed, with the Court noting that its observations were prima facie and would not affect the trial. The decision leaves the petitioner in custody pending trial.
