Holding
The Court denied regular bail, holding that the gravity of the offences precludes granting bail.
Summary
Harsh Kumar applied for regular bail in a case registered under Sections 309(4) and 111 of the BNS and Section 27 of the Arms Act, alleging that he and co‑accused looted an informant’s jewellery shop at gunpoint. He has been in custody since 18 March 2026. The prosecution highlighted the seriousness of the offences, particularly the use of a firearm and the nature of the loot. The Court, after hearing the parties on 9 July 2026, considered the gravity of the alleged crimes and the risk to public order. Concluding that the seriousness outweighed the petitioner’s bail request, the Court dismissed the bail application.
