Holding

Bail was denied because the petitioner was involved in illegal manufacture of arms.

Summary

The petitioner, Aniket Kumar Singh, applied for regular bail in a case registered under Sections 25(1-AA), 25(1-b)a, 26(1) and 26(2) of the Arms Act for alleged involvement in illegal manufacture of arms, including possession of a country‑made pistol and live cartridges. The prosecution alleged that the petitioner was caught with the weapons and related articles. The petitioner claimed innocence and argued that he had been falsely implicated, noting he had been in custody since 6 January 2026 and possessed a prior criminal antecedent. The State opposed the bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the alleged offence. Justice Sandeep Kumar, after considering the facts, declined to grant bail, stating the petitioner’s involvement in illegal arms manufacturing warranted denial of bail, and dismissed the application, allowing a future bail petition if the trial is delayed.
