Summary

Mual Bind was arrested on 5 November 2024 in connection with a FIR dated 4 August 2024 alleging offences under Sections 103(1), 238(a) and 3(5) of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act. He applied for bail before the Patna High Court, having been in custody for over a year and with the trial still in its early stages; only two of six prosecution witnesses had been examined. The court noted the serious nature of the allegations and the limited progress of the trial. After reviewing the trial court’s report, the High Court declined to grant bail, directing the trial court to expedite the proceedings. The petition for bail was therefore refused.
