Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted regular bail to the petitioner subject to a bail bond and sureties.

Summary

The petitioner, Rajneesh Kumar Pandey, applied for regular bail in a case registered under Section 108 of the BNS concerning the alleged abetment of a suicide. The allegation was that he had a sexual relationship with the victim under the pretext of marriage and later refused to marry her, leading to her suicide. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the allegations were false and that the petitioner had been in custody since July 4, 2025. The State opposed the bail on the ground of the seriousness of the charge. After considering the facts, the court ordered the petitioner’s release on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, subject to his cooperation in the trial. The order also required the petitioner to appear on all dates fixed by the court.
