Summary
Kamlesh Kumar, proprietor of K.K. Medico, was implicated in a seizure of a large consignment of psychotropic drugs allegedly belonging to his business on 06-04-2024. An informant, Jitendra Kumar Singh, a medicine inspector, reported the seizure, leading to registration of a case under Sections 21(c) and 22(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The petitioner feared arrest and applied for anticipatory bail. The learned counsel for the State opposed the bail, arguing the seriousness of the alleged offence. Justice Prabhat Kumar Singh examined the material and rejected the petition for anticipatory bail, thereby leaving the petitioner subject to arrest under the NDPS provisions.
