The court allowed the modification, granting a four‑week extension for surrender subject to payment of Rs. 500 to the Lawyers Association.

Summary

The petitioner, Bhuneshwar Yadav, filed a criminal miscellaneous application seeking a further four‑week extension to surrender before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gayaji, and to obtain bail in connection with PS Belaganj Case No. 220 of 2024. The application was filed to modify the earlier order dated 30‑April‑2025 which had granted a limited period for surrender. The court examined the petitioner's request and the circumstances presented, noting that the petitioner was willing to comply with bail conditions. It was held that an additional extension could be granted, provided the petitioner complied with a monetary condition. Consequently, the court allowed the modification, extending the surrender period by four weeks and directing the petitioner to pay Rs. 500 to the Lawyers Association of Patna High Court. The order was pronounced by Justice Rajiv Roy.

Issues considered

  • Whether the petitioner is entitled to an additional four‑week extension to surrender before the magistrate
