Decided

REJECTED

Holding

Bail was denied to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Sonu Pal, was arrested on 4 July 2025 in connection with a dowry‑related homicide alleged under Section 80 of the B.N.S., where the informant's daughter was reportedly killed for non‑payment of dowry. The prosecution contends that the post‑mortem revealed one grievous and one simple injury, supporting the charge, while the petitioner claims he has a clean record and was falsely implicated as the husband of the deceased. The petitioner’s counsel argued that the FIR contains only vague, omnibus allegations against him and that there is no specific evidence linking him to the crime. The Additional Public Prosecutor and the informant’s counsel opposed bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the injuries and the nature of the offence. After considering the facts, the court declined to grant bail, refusing the petitioner’s prayer.

has clean antecedent and he has falsely been implicated in the present

case. Petitioner has been made an accused in this case as he is

although the petitioner is named in the FIR but there is only general

counsel for the informant have vehemently opposed the prayer for

bail of the petitioner and submit that post-mortem report of the
