The court allowed the modification petition, extending the surrender period by eight weeks subject to a Rs. 5,000 deposit and submission of a bail bond receipt.

Summary

The petitioner, Aftab Alam, filed a petition seeking modification of an earlier order dated 17-03-2025 that required his surrender. The petitioner requested an extension of the surrender period, citing reasons not detailed in the judgment. The court considered the petition and, after hearing counsel, granted an additional eight weeks for surrender, conditioned upon the deposit of Rs. 5,000 with the District Legal Services Authority and the furnishing of a bail bond receipt. The deposited amount was directed to be used by the civil court for furnishing and beautifying court premises. Consequently, the original order was modified to reflect the extended surrender period and the stipulated conditions, and the petition was allowed.
