Bail was not granted to the petitioners at this stage of the proceedings.
Summary
The petitioners, Vinod Ram and Ravi Ram, were charged under Sections 61, 103(1), 238 and 3(5) of the B.N.S. for allegedly killing the minor son of an informant by pressing his neck and then discarding the body. The informant alleged that the accused had taken the child away and murdered him, while the petitioners claimed the allegations were false and that they have no prior criminal record. The informant opposed bail, noting that the trial court had already recorded statements of all prosecution witnesses and the accused, and that the trial was at its final stage. The High Court, after hearing counsel, declined to grant bail at this stage, directing that the petitioners may re‑apply after three months if the trial remains pending. The court also ordered the trial to be concluded within that three‑month period.
