Patna High Court

Pappu Singh @ Raj Kumar @ Raj Kumar SinghversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL REJECTED

Holding

Bail was denied to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Pappu Singh, was arrested in connection with a violent incident in which armed assailants entered the informant's house and opened fire, injuring Bhola Singh gravely and assaulting Lallu Yadav. He applied for bail, arguing that the prosecution's case was vague and did not specifically identify him as the shooter. The State and the informant contended that the petitioner was one of the shooters who caused the grievous injury to Bhola Singh. The court examined the seriousness of the offences, the presence of grievous injury, and the lack of clear evidence pinpointing the petitioner’s exact role. Concluding that the petitioner was among the assailants and that the offences were serious, the court refused bail. The order also noted that any observations made would not affect the trial.
