Patna High Court

Suraj Kumar @ Suraj Kumar Chaudhary @ Suraj Kumar RajversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
WITHDRAWN

Holding

The application is dismissed as infructuous because bail has already been granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Suraj Kumar, was implicated in a criminal case (PS Case No. 724 of 2024) in Patna. He filed an application before the Patna High Court seeking relief, presumably related to bail. During the pendency of this application, the petitioner was granted bail by the trial court. Counsel for the petitioner argued that the grant of bail rendered the application moot. The Court examined whether the application could still be entertained in light of the bail order. Concluding that the purpose of the application could no longer be achieved, the Court held the application to be infructuous. Accordingly, the Court dismissed the application.
