The Court granted bail to Yogendra Singh in the pending complaint under Section 420 IPC.

Summary

Petitioner Yogendra Singh feared arrest in a complaint (No. 2323 of 2023) alleging cheating under Section 420 of the IPC, where the prosecution claims he collected Rs. 1,25,000 in three installments for purported house‑construction work. The petitioner contended that he is innocent, that the matter is essentially a civil dispute, and that he has no prior criminal record. The High Court examined the petitioner's apprehension of arrest, the lack of antecedent criminal history, and the nature of the dispute. Finding no compelling reason to deny bail, the Court allowed the bail application. Accordingly, the petitioner was released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties, subject to the conditions of Section 438(2) CrPC and Section 482 CrPC.
