Patna High Court

Ravi Raushan Kumar @ Ravi Raushan KamatversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The Court granted regular bail to the petitioner, subject to specified conditions.

Summary

Ravi Raushan Kumar was arrested on 1 October 2025 for alleged possession of 50 g of brown sugar, alleged offences under sections 20 and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He filed an application for regular bail, asserting his innocence, noting five prior criminal antecedents, and offering to donate Rs. 25,000 to a charitable organization without admitting guilt. The State opposed the bail application. The Court examined the facts, the petitioner’s custody since October 2025, and the submissions, and decided to grant bail on the condition of a Rs. 10,000 bond with two sureties, a mandatory donation of Rs. 25,000 to the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, and weekly attendance at the Ladaniya Police Station. The bail bonds were to be accepted after verification of the donation receipt, and any default would lead to cancellation of bail.
