Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court allowed the petitioner's application for regular bail.

Summary

The petitioner, Harendra Kumar, was arrested in connection with Complaint Case No. 290/2023 alleging offences under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 read with 34 of the Indian Penal Code, primarily forgery of Gram Kacheri records. He had been in custody since 15‑12‑2025 and claimed innocence, a clean antecedent, and willingness to cooperate with the trial. The State, represented by the Additional Public Prosecutor, opposed his request for regular bail. The court noted that the case was a complaint proceeding and considered the length of the petitioner’s detention. After weighing the submissions, the court allowed the bail application, directing the petitioner to furnish a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties of the same amount. Consequently, the petitioner was ordered to be released on bail pending trial.
