Summary
The petitioner, Raja Kumar, applied for anticipatory bail in a case involving alleged offences under sections 341, 323, 307, 384, 385 of the Indian Penal Code and section 27 of the Arms Act. The facts reveal that the victim was shot during a dispute over illegal liquor, and a co‑accused’s confession implicated the petitioner. The petitioner argued that the shooting was carried out by unknown criminals and sought bail to avoid arrest. The court examined the seriousness of the offences and the material evidence linking the petitioner to the crime. Concluding that the circumstances did not merit bail, the judge dismissed the anticipatory bail application.
