Holding
Anticipatory bail was not granted because the allegations were of a serious nature involving public order and communal tension.
Summary
The petitioners, including Gurjeet Singh, Ravi Singh, Manoj Agrawl, and Rinku Singh, applied for anticipatory bail in connection with PS Ramnagar Case No. 363 of 2017, where they were accused of offences under several sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to public order and communal tension. The prosecution alleged that the petitioners were involved in causing disturbance, public disorder, and communal violence. The High Court examined whether the seriousness of the allegations warranted the grant of anticipatory bail. Considering the gravity of the charges, the Court declined to grant anticipatory bail. The applications were dismissed and the petitioners were ordered to surrender within four weeks to seek regular bail, with a warning that the police would proceed with their arrest if they failed to comply.
