Patna High Court

Sunil Kumar Singh @ Sunil SinghversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
DISMISSED

Holding

The Court held that bail could not be granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Sunil Kumar Singh, was arrested in connection with a police case (No. 494/2025) for alleged offences under Sections 132, 109, 262, 121(1) of the B.N.S. and Sections 25(1‑B)(a), 26 and 27 of the Arms Act, including firing at police and sustaining a gunshot injury. He claimed false implication and sought regular bail, acknowledging seven prior criminal cases for which he is already on bail and noting his custody since 28‑06‑2025. The State opposed bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges and the petitioner’s extensive criminal antecedents. The Court, after hearing senior counsel for the petitioner and the Additional Public Prosecutor, found the antecedents and the alleged firing on police sufficient to deny bail. Consequently, the bail application was dismissed.
