Ram SagarversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
DISMISSED

Holding

The court held that bail could not be granted as the petitioner’s involvement in the theft and his prior criminal record warranted continued detention.

Summary

Ram Sagar was arrested in connection with a theft case (PS Case No. 102 of 2025) for allegedly snatching a purse containing a gold chain and other articles. The prosecution alleged that the stolen items were recovered from the petitioner and that he has a prior criminal record. The petitioner applied for regular bail under Section 305(c) of the BNS. The court examined the prosecution’s evidence, the recovery of the stolen articles, and the petitioner’s antecedents. Considering these factors, the court was not inclined to grant bail. Consequently, the bail application was dismissed.
