Decided
Disposal
BAIL REJECTED

Holding

The court denied the petition for pre‑arrest bail.

Summary

The petitioner, Ankit Raj, was named in an FIR alleging attempts to murder an informant by firing a pistol, with incidents occurring at two locations. He faces charges under sections 126(2), 115(2), 352, 351(2), 351(3), and 109 of the Bihar Negotiable Statutes (BNS) and section 27 of the Arms Act, reflecting serious offenses including attempted homicide. The petitioner, who has a prior criminal record, applied for pre‑arrest bail fearing imminent arrest. The court examined the gravity of the allegations, the petitioner’s criminal antecedent, and the risk to public safety. Considering these factors, the bench concluded that granting bail would be inappropriate. Consequently, the petition for pre‑arrest bail was rejected.
