BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court granted regular bail to the petitioner, subject to a bond and sureties.

Summary

The petitioner, Kumar Gourav, was arrested in connection with a kidnapping case (PS Kotwali (Barari) Case No. 517/2019) under Sections 363 and 366 of the Indian Penal Code. The prosecution alleges that he kidnapped the informant’s daughter, while the petitioner claims the girl eloped with him and stayed with him for several months before the relationship soured. He asserted his innocence, highlighted his clean antecedent, and stated he has been in custody since 30‑05‑2025 and is willing to cooperate with the trial. The State opposed regular bail. After considering the facts, the court found no compelling reason to keep the petitioner detained and ordered bail on the condition of a Rs.10,000 bond with two sureties.
