Patna High Court

Jabbar Alam @ Abdul JabbarversusThe State of Bihar

Decided
Disposal
BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The High Court confirmed the provisional bail previously granted to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Jabbar Alam, was arrested in June 2025 for alleged abduction of a girl under Sections 137(2), 96, 352 and 3(5) of the Bihar Negotiable Instruments Act, 2023. He applied for bail before the Patna High Court, arguing that he was falsely implicated and had traveled to Kolkata of his own volition. The trial court had earlier granted provisional bail on 3 December 2025. The High Court examined the petitioner's claim of innocence and the circumstances of his custody. Relying on the earlier provisional bail order and finding no contrary material, the Court confirmed the bail, allowing the petitioner to remain on the same bail bonds. Consequently, the petitioner was released on bail pending trial.
