The Court allowed the modification, granting a six‑week extension to surrender subject to a Rs 10,000 deposit and submission of the bail‑bond receipt.

Summary

The petitioner, Deepak Kumar, filed a petition under Cr. Misc. No.83251 of 2025 seeking modification of an earlier order dated 01‑02‑2024 that had extended the time allowed for his surrender in a criminal case. The petitioner argued that additional time was required to arrange the bail‑bond and deposit. The State opposed the request. The Court examined the reasons furnished by the petitioner and found them sufficient to grant a further extension. It ordered that the petitioner be given six weeks from the date of the order to surrender, provided he deposits Rs 10,000 with the District Legal Services Authority and produces the receipt along with the bail‑bond. The earlier order was accordingly modified.
