Anticipatory bail was refused.

Summary

The petitioner, Appu Ansari, sought anticipatory bail fearing arrest in a case under Sections 25(1‑B)(A), 26 and 35 of the Arms Act. The prosecution alleged that on 25‑03‑2025 police seized a motorcycle, live cartridges, two mobile phones and Rs.1,69,500, and that a co‑accused had indicated the cartridges would be handed over to the petitioner. The petitioner has five prior criminal records, three of which relate to similar offences. The court examined the seriousness of the alleged offences and the petitioner’s antecedents. Considering the nature of the accusation and the similar prior convictions, the court refused the prayer for anticipatory bail. The petition was therefore dismissed.
