BAIL REJECTED

Holding

Anticipatory bail was not granted as the seriousness of the offences and the grievous injuries justified its refusal.

Summary

The petitioner, Vishal Paswan, sought anticipatory bail after a FIR alleged that he, along with co‑accused, lured a victim to a litchi orchard, snatched his gold chain and assaulted him with a lathi, danda and iron rod, causing multiple grievous head injuries. The offences alleged were under Sections 341, 323, 307, 379 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. The petitioner feared arrest and therefore applied for anticipatory bail. The Court examined the seriousness of the alleged offences, the nature of the injuries, and the multiple charges, and concluded that the gravity of the case warranted denial of bail. Consequently, the petition for anticipatory bail was refused.
