BAIL GRANTED

Holding

The court allowed the petition for regular bail, directing the petitioner’s release on bond.

Summary

The petitioner, Sonu Paswan, was arrested in connection with a murder case (Choraut P.S. Case No. 68/2025) alleging his involvement in the death of his sister-in-law. He sought regular bail, claiming innocence, a clean antecedent, and that the trial had been delayed with pending police paperwork. The prosecution opposed bail, citing serious charges under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 351(2), 352, 80 and 3(5) of the B.N.S. The court considered the length of custody since 12 May 2025 and the lack of trial progress. Finding the delay significant and noting the petitioner’s cooperation, the court granted regular bail on a bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties. The order directed the petitioner’s release upon compliance with bail conditions.
