DISMISSED

Holding

The bail application was dismissed.

Summary

Rajiv Kumar was arrested in connection with offences under Sections 8 and 20(b)(ii)(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, registered as Bairgachhi P.S. Case No. 67/2025. He filed an application for bail, arguing that the trial was nearing its conclusion and he did not wish to contest the merits. The petitioner’s counsel, N A Shamsi, appeared before the Hon’ble Justice Sandeep Kumar. The State, represented by Additional Public Prosecutor Upendra Kumar, opposed the bail. The Court considered the request and, without delving into the merits, dismissed the bail application. Consequently, the petitioner remains in custody pending the final trial outcome.
