Summary
The petitioner, Pankaj Kumar, was arrested in connection with a case registered under Section 96 of the BNS for alleged abduction of a girl. The prosecution alleged that he abducted the victim, while the victim's statement indicated that she had voluntarily eloped with the petitioner. The petitioner had been in custody since June 18, 2025, and filed a bail application. The court examined the victim's statement and concluded that the alleged abduction was not involuntary. Consequently, the court allowed the bail application, directing the petitioner to be released on a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, subject to the satisfaction of the ACJM-VI, Bhojpur. The order was pronounced by Justice Sandeep Kumar on March 19, 2026.
