DISMISSED

Holding

Anticipatory bail was denied as the offences were serious and the petitioner had prior convictions.

Summary

Manjit Yadav applied for anticipatory bail fearing arrest in a case registered under multiple serious offences, including sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Arms Act. The prosecution alleged that he shot the victim and highlighted his two prior criminal convictions. The court examined the nature and gravity of the alleged offences and the petitioner’s criminal antecedents. Concluding that the seriousness warranted denial of anticipatory bail, the court rejected the application. The petitioner was ordered to surrender within four weeks and seek regular bail, with a warning that failure to do so would lead to his arrest.
