BAIL REJECTED

Holding

Bail was denied because the nature of the accusations involving murder, arms, and narcotics warranted continued custody.

Summary

The petitioner, Bimlesh Kumar, was arrested on 14 May 2025 in connection with the murder of a deceased individual. The FIR alleges that he was one of the assailants and charges him under Section 103(1) of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act and Sections 25(1‑b)a, 26 and 27 of the Arms Act. He applied for bail before the High Court, contending that he had been in custody for several months. The Court examined the seriousness of the offences, noting the violent nature of the alleged act and the involvement of arms and narcotics. Considering the gravity of the accusations, the Court rejected the bail application. However, the Court directed the trial court to expedite the trial proceedings given the prolonged pre‑trial detention. The order was pronounced by Justice Prabhat Kumar Singh.
