Holding
The court held that the petitioner is entitled to bail.
Summary
The petitioner, Vijay Sahni, was charged under Sections 304B, 201 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code for the alleged dowry death of his wife. The prosecution alleged that the deceased was killed by her in‑laws, including the petitioner, for dowry, but the petitioner contended that he was not present at the time of death and that the death was due to illness. He further asserted that he never demanded dowry and that the case was based solely on suspicion. The State opposed the bail application, citing the seriousness of the offences. Considering the length of custody since 26‑04‑2025 and the lack of concrete evidence, the court ordered his release on bail upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs.10,000 with two sureties.
