The Court modified the earlier order, granting an additional eight weeks for surrender subject to a Rs.5,000 deposit with the District Legal Services Authority.

Summary

The petitioner, Suraj Yadav, filed an application seeking modification of the Court’s earlier order dated 29‑08‑2025 which had extended the time for him to surrender. The petition argued for a further extension to facilitate surrender and bail‑bond compliance. The Court, after hearing counsel for both parties, granted an additional eight‑week period from the date of the order for surrender and furnishing a bail‑bond. The extension was conditioned upon the petitioner depositing Rs.5,000 with the District Legal Services Authority and producing the receipt with the bail‑bond. Consequently, the earlier order was modified accordingly and the petition was allowed.

Issues considered

  • Whether the Court may further extend the period granted for surrender under the earlier order
