DISMISSED

Holding

Regular bail was denied to the petitioner.

Summary

The petitioner, Tarun Ray, was arrested in connection with a case involving conspiracy to hire criminals who shot two persons, resulting in one death, under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Section 27 of the Arms Act. He has been in custody since July 16, 2025 and possesses eleven prior criminal antecedents. The petitioner applied for regular bail for the second time after an earlier bail denial on October 8, 2025. The prosecution alleged his participation in the conspiracy and murder. The court examined the seriousness of the offences, the petitioner’s criminal history, and the risk of tampering with evidence. Concluding that the factors weighed against granting bail, the court rejected the bail application. The order was pronounced by Justice Sandeep Kumar.
