The court extended the surrender deadline by three weeks, subject to a Rs.10,000 deposit, thereby modifying the original anticipatory bail order.

Summary

The petitioner, Ravina Kumari, had been granted anticipatory bail by an order dated 12-08-2025, with a direction to surrender to the court within four weeks. The four-week period elapsed, but the petitioner failed to surrender due to a communication gap with her counsel and lack of awareness of the bail privilege. The petitioner filed an application seeking modification of the original order to extend the surrender deadline. The court considered the counsel's explanation and the procedural lapse. It granted a further three weeks for surrender, conditioned upon a deposit of Rs.10,000 by the petitioner's counsel. The original anticipatory bail order was thereby modified only to the extent of the time extension and deposit condition.
