Holding

The Court held that there were no grounds to modify the bail condition and dismissed the application.

Summary

The petitioner, Md Ulfat, filed an application seeking modification of a bail condition imposed by the Patna High Court on 26 July 2024, which required him to report to the Gogri Police Station every Sunday. The specific condition sought to be altered was clause 7(i) of the earlier order, which stipulated cancellation of the bail bond upon any default. The petitioner argued that the condition was onerous and sought relief. The Court examined whether there were sufficient grounds to vary the bail condition under the applicable procedural law. Finding no sufficient justification, the Court declined to modify the condition and dismissed the application.
