The Court extended the surrender period by a further four weeks, subject to payment of Rs. 500 to the Legal Services Committee.

Summary

The petitioner, Rakesh Dhangad, filed an application seeking modification of an earlier order dated 23 September 2025 that had extended his surrender period by four weeks in a case under sections 30(a) and 32 of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. The petitioner requested an additional extension of the surrender period. The Court examined whether further extension could be granted and what conditions, if any, should be imposed. It held that a further four‑week extension could be allowed, but conditioned the relief on the petitioner paying Rs. 500 to the Patna High Court Legal Services Committee. Consequently, the order dated 23 September 2025 was modified to extend the surrender period by another four weeks subject to the stipulated payment.
