The application for regular bail was dismissed, with a cost order imposed.
Summary
The petitioner, Shyamrup Kumar, was implicated in PS Madhepura Case No. 711 of 2025 and sought regular bail. His earlier bail application was rejected on 23 September 2025 (Cr. Misc. No. 63373 of 2025). He filed a second bail application on 4 February 2026, four months after the rejection. The Patna High Court observed that filing successive bail applications is discouraged and found no merit to entertain the fresh request. Consequently, the court dismissed the application and imposed a cost of Rs. 5,000 to be deposited with the Legal Services Authority.
Issues considered
