BAIL GRANTED

Holding

Bail was granted to the petitioner upon furnishing a Rs. 10,000 bond with two sureties, subject to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

Summary

The petitioner, Sumit Kumar Yadav, was arrested in connection with an assault on the brother of an informant, alleged to involve multiple offences under the Bihar Penal Code. He has been in custody since September 23, 2025. The petitioner applied for bail, arguing that the incident arose from a trivial quarrel in which both parties inflicted injuries on each other. The State opposed the bail, citing the seriousness of the charges. After considering the facts, the court ordered that bail be granted on the condition that the petitioner furnishes a bail bond of Rs. 10,000 with two sureties of the same amount, subject to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bhagalpur. The order was pronounced by Justice Prabhat Kumar Singh.
