Holding

The Court dismissed the bail applications, refusing bail to all petitioners.

Summary

The Patna High Court considered three bail petitions filed by Pranav Kumar, Pintu Kumar Sharma, and Hariom Kumar, all accused in PS Raniganj Case No. 362 of 2025 for looting Rs.2,43,000 and assaulting an informant, allegedly under Sections 309(6) and 3(5) of the Bihar Narcotic Substances Act and Section 1(b)(a) 26 of the Arms Act. The prosecution alleged that the co‑accused, in a self‑inculpatory statement, identified the petitioners as the looters, and the petitioners had been in custody since 2 October 2025 with prior criminal antecedents. The State opposed bail, arguing the petitioners participated in the crime. The Court examined the facts, the seriousness of the offence, and the petitioners’ criminal history, and concluded that bail could not be granted. Consequently, the Court dismissed all three bail applications.
