The petition is disposed of with a direction to the police to keep making efforts to trace the victim and to decide on providing security to the petitioner as per the facts.

Summary

Deonath Singh filed a writ petition seeking a proper investigation and recovery of a girl allegedly kidnapped by the accused, and also requested security for himself and his family. The High Court earlier directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, to file a report on the investigation and tracing of the victim. The police submitted a counter‑affidavit stating that the investigation was completed, a charge‑sheet filed, but the victim could not be traced despite all efforts. The Court noted these facts and disposed of the petition, directing the police to continue efforts to locate the victim whenever possible and to decide on providing security to the petitioner based on the circumstances. No further orders were made beyond this direction.
