Summary

Sundar Das filed a writ petition in the Patna High Court against the Reserve Bank of India, the Insurance Ombudsman, and officials of Chola Mandalam Insurance Company, seeking relief. The petitioner had already lodged a complaint with the Insurance Ombudsman's grievance redressal portal. The Court, without examining the merits, disposed of the writ petition at the admission stage with the consent of both parties. It directed the Insurance Ombudsman to decide the pending complaint within 12 weeks, after giving notice and an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the insurance company officials. The order concluded that the writ petition stands disposed.
