The court directed the District Education Officer to dispose of the petitioner’s online grievance within one month and, if the petitioner is entitled, to issue the appointment within a further month.
Summary
The petitioner, a teacher, filed a writ seeking direction to the State Education Department to post him as Head Teacher in Block Kurhani and to issue the appointment letter. He had lodged an online grievance on the Bihar Education Project Council portal on 17 January 2026, which remained pending before the District Education Officer, Muzaffarpur. The petitioner asked the court to order the DEO to dispose of the grievance within a fixed period and, if he is found entitled, to grant the posting. The respondent State raised no objection to the limited prayer. The court, noting the narrow relief sought, disposed of the writ by directing the DEO to decide the grievance within one month after hearing the petitioner and, if favorable, to issue the appointment within a further month.
