The writ petition is disposed of, with the petitioner directed to approach the CGRF for any grievance regarding the revised bill.
Summary
M/s Sanjay Printing Works (Petitioner) challenged a revised electricity bill issued by South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (Respondent) alleging excessive charges. The Respondent’s counter‑affidavit explained that after applying a MMG adjustment, Industrial Incentive Policy 2011 benefits and a Deferred Payment Scheme (DPS) adjustment, the net dues were reduced to Rs 2,22,387 as of 12‑Nov‑2024. The petition sought relief against the bill, but the Court noted that the adjustments were duly approved by the General Manager (Finance) and that the petitioner could approach the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) for any further dispute. The Court directed that any CGRF application be disposed of within four weeks. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of without further order.
Issues considered
- What is the correct amount payable by the petitioner after the MMG, IIP 2011 and DPS adjustments?
