Summary

Fashi Ahmad filed a writ petition in the Patna High Court challenging an order dated 04.05.2016 of the Bihar Land Tribunal, which upheld earlier orders dismissing his appeals in land‑reform matters. He sought a writ directing the respondents to set aside those orders and grant relief. The petition was later withdrawn by the petitioner’s counsel. The Court, after hearing, permitted the withdrawal and dismissed the petition as withdrawn, without addressing the merits of the challenge.

Issues considered

  • Whether the order of the Bihar Land Tribunal dismissing the petitioner’s land‑reform appeals can be quashed by a writ.
  • Whether a writ petition may be withdrawn after filing and what effect that has on the proceedings.

  • land reform
  • writ petition
  • Bihar Land Tribunal
  • quash order
  • withdrawal of petition
