The court ordered that the petitioner may operate his bank account, with the lien of Rs. 2000 continuing pending the final outcome of the cyber‑crime case.
Summary
Shivam Saurav filed a writ petition challenging the freezing of his bank account by several banking institutions and the State of Bihar. The court had earlier ordered the defreezing of the account on 29‑01‑2026, but a lien of Rs. 2000 remained due to a cyber‑crime investigation by the State Cyber Cell, CID, Gujarat. The petitioner sought permission to operate the account while accepting the continuation of the lien. Counsel for the petitioner submitted that he had no objection to the lien remaining on the specified amount. The court directed the respondent authorities to allow the petitioner to operate the account, maintaining the lien of Rs. 2000 until the cyber‑crime case is finally resolved, and consequently disposed of the writ petition.
