Holding

The Court grants the petitioner liberty to agitate the matter before the respondents and disposes of the writ petition.

Summary

Ram Narayan Singh filed a writ petition seeking the return of his land (Khata No. 967, Khesra No. 957, 10 decimal) that had been attached to the northern portion of a public high school, or alternatively compensation under the New Land Acquisition Act with interest. The petitioner argued that he should be permitted to agitate the matter before the respondent authorities in accordance with law. The State counsel contended that if the petition were allowed, it must be taken to its logical conclusion. The Court, after hearing counsel, granted the petitioner liberty to pursue the agitation before the respondents. Consequently, the writ petition was disposed of without ordering any specific return of land or compensation.
