The Court directed the Circle Officer to take appropriate steps, give notice to all parties, and fix the lagan within three months, thereby disposing of the petition.
Summary
Petitioner Om Prakash Rai filed a writ petition seeking fixation of lagan (rent) for two parcels of land in Rohtas district, relying on a 2010 title‑appeal judgment and subsequent orders of the Chakbandi Officer (1987) and Deputy Collector (2014). The petitioner requested the Court to direct the Circle Officer, Kochas, to take steps to fix the lagan as per the pending order of the Deputy Collector dated 16‑09‑2014. The State counsel indicated the matter would be taken to its logical conclusion. The Court, after hearing, ordered the Circle Officer to give notice to all concerned parties, if not already done, and to complete the lagan fixation within three months. The petition was disposed with this direction.
