Salim AnsariversusThe Bihar State University Service Commission,

Decided
Disposal
CONSIGNED

Holding

The writ petition is dismissed as the matter has become infructuous.

Summary

The petitioner, Salim Ansari, filed a writ petition challenging the withdrawal of a recruitment advertisement for the post of Assistant Professor in Ancient History, Cultural and Archaeology by the Bihar State University Service Commission. The advertisement (No. AP-AIHA-09/20-21 dated 21.09.2020) had been withdrawn and the recruitment process stalled, rendering the petition ineffective. The court examined the submissions and noted the issuance of Important Notice No. 833 dated 20.03.2025, which confirmed that the matter had become infructuous. Consequently, the court held that there was no longer any live controversy to entertain. The writ application was therefore consigned as infructuous and dismissed.
