Summary
Ram Kumar Sah filed a writ petition in the Patna High Court challenging actions of the State of Bihar and its officials, alleging a public cause. The Court examined whether the petition could be entertained under Article 226 of the Constitution. It observed that the relief sought pertained to a public interest matter rather than a private grievance. Consequently, the petition was held not maintainable under Article 226. The Court advised the petitioner that the appropriate remedy is to file a Public Interest Litigation. The writ petition was therefore disposed of.
