The Additional Collector, Supaul, is directed to take up and dispose of Mutation Revision Case No. 10 of 2024‑25 within three months.
Summary
Petitioner Vina Devi filed a writ petition seeking an order directing the Additional Collector, Supaul, to dispose of a pending Mutation Revision case (No. 10 of 2024‑25) that had remained unresolved since a counter‑affidavit was filed on 13‑08‑2024. The petitioner alleged that despite an undertaking by the Circle Officer to dispose of the matter at the earliest, no order had been passed, causing undue delay. The State argued that the petition was limited to seeking disposal of the specific revision case. The Court examined whether the administrative inaction violated the petitioner's right to a timely determination of land records. It held that the Additional Collector must take up the matter immediately and dispose of it within three months. Accordingly, the writ petition was disposed of, granting the limited relief sought.
